Icom America Renews Scouting Sponsorship

Icom America and the Boy Scouts of America have announced the renewal of their sponsorship agreement through 2018.

The agreement began in 2012 and provided Jamboree on the Air promotion, BSA local council station loans, and National Jamboree equipment loans and repeaters. You can find the press release from the BSA at Icom America Continues Amateur Radio Support for Boy Scouts of America and from Icom America here.

BSA Radio Scouting activities will remain Powered by Icom at least through 2018. Great news.

K2BSA Calendar Available

We’ve added a page with the full calendar of K2BSA call sign activations and Scouting related special events. You can find it at K2BSA Calendar. We hope the full calendar helps you find openings for use of the K2BSA/x call sign for your special event.

Our records show that in 2011 we authorized 6 activations of the call sign. In 2015 so far we’ve authorized 40. You’re clearly putting it to good use for your Scouting events.

As one reminder for your special events. If the K2BSA call sign isn’t available, you can apply for a 1 x 1 call sign at http://www.1x1callsigns.org

Did You Work K2BSA/x During JOTA?

0

If you worked any of the K2BSA activations during Jamboree on the Air and are seeking to send a QSL card, you can find details on each operation at K2BSA QSL Paths. You can sort this table by call, date, etc. It typically provides the call sign of the control operator as the QSL address — and almost always asks for a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope, SASE.

You can find addresses for any USA amateur radio call sign at QRZ.com and a few other services.

Thanks for getting on the air during JOTA and for working K2BSA.
