K2BSA/5 – Jamboree On The Air – Tulsa, OK

At our Jamboree on the Air event near Tulsa, Oklahoma, We share the hobby of Amateur Ham Radio with Scouts/Scouters of All ages! We have several local radio clubs help support the event with ham station operators and their radio equipment. We introduce VHF/UHF/HF and CW modes as well as digital. It offers a chance to try for the “Morse Code” interpreter strip. Other activities include the “Radio” Merit badge class, a Fox Hunt using a directional antenna and hand held 5-watt HT receiver and the opportunity to take the FCC’s 35 question Technician license test while there. We are very blessed to have a generous private donor who also rewards Youth Scouts a new HT radio for passing! 73 Dave W5PPA
